The House of Emerging Technologies PRISMA (PRato Industrial SMart Accelerator) has made possible to create, in the Prato area, a new infrastructure organized across three locations and dedicated to carrying out technology transfer activities towards businesses. PRISMA's activity consists in investigating and harnessing the innovative potential of emerging technologies (Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and 5G) and applying them to the textile-fashion sector and Made in Italy. The CTE PRISMA project, funded in 2020 by the Ministry of Economic Development (now MIMIT) and co-funded by the Municipality of Prato, promotes the creation and acceleration of new enterprises in this field and the transfer of the developed solutions to businesses in the sector.

General objective

PRISMA has the general objective of making Italian textile-fashion - the main representative of Made in Italy in the world - more competitive and efficient, increasing its added value through better use of resources, and boosting economic growth by creating new enterprises and qualified jobs through technology transfer.

Specific objectives of the project

• The creation of a new technology transfer center called "House of Technologies PRISMA - PRato Industrial SMart Accelerator";
• The implementation of joint research and experimentation (R&D) projects between universities, research centers and enterprises for the development of new solutions based on emerging technologies and 5G in favor of Made in Italy;
• The creation and acceleration of start-ups in the fields of Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain in support of the textile-fashion sector;
• Technology transfer towards manufacturing enterprises in support of innovation, competitiveness and employment.
