Who manages the program and the startup area?

The area will be managed by StartupItalia, the reference Tech Media company for the innovation ecosystem in Italy. StartupItalia is a company of the Nana Bianca Group, one of the main Italian accelerators that has supported more than 70 startups and created more than 300 jobs in the last 5 years. The startup acceleration programs created by Nana Bianca are a reference point for Italian and international acceleration programs.

The acceleration program

The program aims to build innovation in the Textile and Fashion (T&F) industrial sector, through the identification and launch of startups that operate with business models based on 5G technologies, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and blockchain. The startup business projects will work on themes identified as strategic to increase the competitiveness of the T&F sector and based on the needs that emerged during the diagnostic phase of the competitive situation of companies (technological audit) that emerged in the initial phase of the project. The acceleration program will provide targeted support to each selected startup, with a personalized path of improvement of management practices, commercial development, analysis of new markets, technological audit, networking and promotion actions. The selected startups (15-20 over 3 years) will benefit from the support program in exchange for their commitment to participate in the activities of the PRISMA Emerging Technologies House. The acceleration program (Selection and Acceleration of Start-ups + Open Innovation between Start-ups and Companies) will have a duration of 12 months divided as follows:

  • Strategic Focus – 8 weeks;
  • Start-up Engagement + Application Management – 12 weeks;
  • Start-up Selection – 4 weeks;
  • Onboarding and Training – 4 weeks;
  • Acceleration Path (according to Nana Bianca's Hubble format) - 16 weeks;
  • Open Innovation Focus for companies - 12 weeks.

What will the startuppers have at their disposal?

The startuppers will have open space environments equipped with desktop and laptop workstations with broadband connection, shared network resources (servers and printers), a seminar room for the acceleration program equipped with a high-definition videoconferencing system to allow external subjects (teachers, learners) to work remotely in real time and in a coordinated and interactive manner. Inside the space there is also a bar and a consultation area for thematic materials on innovation and new technologies.
